An American firefighter is now facing gun and ammunition charges in Jamaica after security checks at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, uncovered a disassembled pistol and more than a dozen rounds hidden in his checked luggage on Sunday.

Police have identified the accused as 48-year-old Roland Douglas II of Guntersville, Alabama, who was preparing to depart the island when the discovery was made around 12:45 p.m.
