Cops searching for men who tried to torch homes

The police are appealing for information that will help their investigation into an attack by thugs in the Rose Town community in Kingston on Tuesday.

The Corporate Communications Unit noted that the police are aware of video being circulated on social media in which hoodlums were seen throwing Molotov cocktail bombs on dwelling houses. Reports are that about 1 a.m., armed men with high powered weapons invaded a section of Harris Street by attempting to set ablaze several dwelling houses. Also, there was gunfire in the area. One motor vehicle was damaged in the incident, however, no further reports of any damage or injuries were recorded.

Lawmen are appealing to residents with information that can assist in the investigation, or the identification of the suspects to contact the Denham Town police at 876-948-6443, police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest police station.
