In a steamy, 'seductive Christmas anthem', international dancehall superstar Dexta Daps has his female fans in a chokehold with his new single, ' Champagne'.

Following the release of the graphically composed track, filtered with a host of sexually charged lyrics, several supporters have dubbed the track as "the song of the year" - Dexta Daps admitted that he's loving the feedback.

"When you make music, you always hope it connects; but when the people decide and give it a title like that, it hits different," Dexta Daps told THE WEEKEND STAR.

" Champagne is one of those records that feels good, makes you move and sets a mood, and Christmas is all about vibe, celebration and closeness. So if it's becoming the soundtrack for the holidays, I can't complain," he added.

With the Christmas-coded title and the underlining double entendre through his lyrics, this was a concept the artiste consistently maintained throughout the spicy wordplay.

"It was intentional. Christmas is a celebratory season - champagne popping, people dressing up, energy high. But at the same time, [in the lines which says] ' Champagne cyaah bubble suh,' it speaks to movement, confidence, and femininity," the No Underwear artiste said.

The song, which was officially released on December 12, saw Dexta Daps flaunting an exquisitely tailored, wine red suit while sharing clips, teasing fans with what's to come. Additionally, with the symbolic use of the colour red for the visualiser, he revealed that it was also an intentional move to inform fans that something merry was brewing for Christmas.

"The red tones represent passion, luxury, warmth - all the things I wanted Champagne to feel like. This song is about confidence and celebration, especially for the ladies," said the sensual singjay.

Known for his seductive musical appetite and as one who aims to please, especially his female supporters, with his witty talent, the artiste seems to be hitting the right spot once again with Champagne. This is evident in his fans' responses to the track, some women saying that "this is the song that will get me pregnant this December", while others confessed that it brought them back running to their exes.

Dexta Daps shared some of the most bizarre and humorous fan stories he has heard in relation to Champagne and previous tracks.

"Fans say some wild things," he laughed. "I've had women who told me my music saved their relationship and others say it ruined one. One fan told me she had my song on repeat when it was released and ended up spending the rest of the night in the car with her ex."

"That's when you know the music is powerful but listen, use [it] responsibly!" he smiled.
